BRASSERIE BAR ASSISTANT MANAGER

The Venue:

The Deck Restaurant and Lounge, Sydney’s harbour side dining sensation embraces uninterrupted views of the world's most iconic landmarks, right at the entrance to Luna Park Sydney.

The Deck Restaurant and Lounge offers Mediterranean cuisine in a superb atmosphere of relaxed elegance. Join this fun loving, vibrant and people orientated organisation in the full time role of The Deck Brasserie Bar Assistant Manager. 

The Position:

The successful applicant must have previous Bar experience at supervisory or management level. Possess a friendly, positive attitude, be enthusiastic and responsible with proven leadership skills.

The primary responsibilities for this role include:

• Supervision of bar team and bar service
• Hands on bar/floor service and setup
• Oversee full bar operations and cocktail creation, including creating cocktail menus
• Assist with bar team recruitment, and training
• Oversee till operations and accurate cash management
• Maintain high levels of guest service and customer relations
• Ensure adherence to quality standards
• Internal and external compliance requirements

Candidate Requirements:

We are looking for applicants who have chosen to work in Hospitality as their preferred career.  Applicants must demonstrate the following essential requirements:

• Previous long-term employment at a reputable venue with high volume and cocktail bar experience, coffee skills an asset
• Demonstrated experience as a Bar Manager/Supervisor
• Extensive knowledge of wine, cocktails, top shelf liquors

• Creativity and up to date with trends to create new cocktail menus
• Experience with stock take
• Assist in developing new and inventive promotions to drive revenue, working closely with our suppliers
• Experience optimising labour to control wage costs
• Ability to lead, motivate, train and develop a team
• Passion, enthusiasm and drive to succeed
• Detailed knowledge of WH&S and liquor licensing requirements
• Experience creating/implementing new procedures and policies
• Possess a professional manner supported by excellent guest service technique
• Calm, strong communicator with solid training/presentation skills
• A current NSW RSA competency card
• Flexibility to work a range of full-time shifts over 6 days (closed on Mondays) with majority of shifts performed Wednesday through Sunday mainly in the evening
• Knowledge of restaurant operations would be advantageous
